Our property is a recognized Monarch Waystation. We have areas dedicated to growing milkweed the essential larval food for monarch butterflies.

Cindy created a website called Milkweed and Monarch Butterfly Mania which teaches about milkweed and monarch butterflies. She was awarded an A+ rating from the National Science Teachers Association for the project.

President Obama has just pledged millions to save the butterfly. This begins by safeguarding native milkweed patches

Our property has also been recognized by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. By making careful choices of native trees and plants, we help Pennsylvania speciaes survive and thrive.

Birdhouses have been placed around the property. They provide nesting sites and winter shelter for many native birds.
